Coffee Afloat turns our cups into compost

Sustainability On The Lake Dunstan Trail

A Fully Biodegradable Coffee Cup Lifecycle

An enterprising Central Otago business serving hot coffee to cyclists and walkers on the spectacular Lake Dunstan Cycle Trail, have found a way to complete the life cycle of our disposable paper cups. Coffee Afloat is a cafe on the lake, a welcome fuel stop for visitors taking on the trail between Cromwell and Clyde.

VISIT COFFEE AFLOAT

A pristine and picturesque part of the world and a business with a love of the natural environment, Coffee Afloat uses Glopac NZ Plastic and PLA Free Coffee Cups and Paper Lids from Ashbec.

Enjoying a barista grade coffee on a boat on Lake Dunstan is like nothing else. Beautiful scenery, a gentle breeze and a serene lake - it has proved a hit with cycle trail users.

Coffee Afloat owners, Richard and Jolanda Foale, wanted a fully biodegradable coffee cup that did not contain any plastic. Their disposable coffee cups and lids are 100% paper and free from any plastic or PLA linings.
